the Australian bush. Enjoy bush walks, scenic forest drives

is a birdwatcher's paradise. Follow some of Baradine's well-marked
Bird
Routes and you could spot flocks of glossy black cockatoos
coming in to drink at the Salt Caves Dam at sundown.
Spanning
over 3,000 square kilometres, the State Forests of the Pilliga
constitute the largest continuous remnant of semi-arid woodland
in temperate New South Wales, Australia. The forest contains
at least 300 native animal species, and more than 230 species
of birds; with at least 22 endangered animal species including
vulnerable species such as the Glossy Black Cockatoo, Squirrel
Glider, Koala, Pilliga Mouse and Rufous Bettong. There are
at least 900 plant species including many threatened plant
