Camp Cypress
Ltd is a non-profit organisation offering accommodation and
catering services for Baradine. Camp Cypress was started in
2001 by a group of community-inspired people, wanting to promote
Baradine and surrounding areas.
Camp Cypress
provides an ideal accommodation and camping venue especially
for bird watching groups who regularly explore the local bird
routes of Baradine and the Pilliga Forest. We offer a range
of accommodation from ex-2000 Olympic Games villas, camp sites,
caravan sites (powered and unpowered) to pavilion-style bulk
accommodation.
Located approximately 500kms from Sydney and 45kms north-west
of Coonabarabran,
Camp Cypress is situated on 75 hectares of open woodland at
the Baradine Showground and old racecourse, only 1.5 km -
2 km from town services and sporting facilities. Make a day
trip to the famous opal mining town of Lightning Ridge, just
3½ hours away; or experience the soothing qualities
of the Pilliga
Hot Artesian Bore Baths, less than an hour's drive; or
visit the rugged Warrumbungle
Ranges.
Our State
Forest issues permits for mountain biking, motorcross, 4WDing,
and recreational shooting. These permits can be obtained in
Baradine at the State Forest Administration Centre (cnr Lachlan
& Darling Streets).
Baradine has a new National Parks and Wildlife Centre, including
a Tourist Information Centre, in Wellington Street; with brochures
and local knowledge of the Pilliga Scrub and our wonderful
district. For more
info on Baradine and the surrounding district, visit the
official website of the Warrumbungle
Region.
So come and visit Camp Cypress and our district -- you'll
be amazed at how much there is to do out here. |
