- About
Camp Cypress
CAMP CYPRESS
is located at the Baradine Showground, in north-western New South
Wales. It is approximately 497
kms from Sydney, and 45
kms north-west of Coonabarabran. From Baradine it
is only a 3½ hours' drive to the famous opal mining town of Lightning Ridge,
via Coonamble and Walgett.
- Baradine is situated at the crossroads of
three of the major natural wonders of country Australia. To the south is
the beautiful Warrumbungle
Mountain Range, a natural volcanic mountain range millions of years
old. To our west are the black soil plains
and the beginning of the Great Aussie Outback! Running through these
plains are the great inland rivers of western NSW, including Oxley and
Sturt, the Namoi, Barwon, Macquarie and Gwydir. To our north we have one of the largest
pine forests in the world - the Pilliga
State Forest, which contains many species of birds, flora and fauna,
seen nowhere else in Australia.
Make CAMP
CYPRESS your base to explore the area's
many natural attractions and old saw milling communities such as
Wooleybah and Gwabegar. Excellent accommodation, powered
and unpowered camp sites and amenities are avialable, as well as catering
facilities for large groups. Click
