What is Camp Cypress?

Camp Cypress is a not-for-profit, community owned and operated accommodation and catering facility, situated on 75 hectares of open woodland at the Baradine Showground and old racecourse. It was constructed using a Federal Government Regional Solutions grant, as well as voluntary labour and materials donated by the local community. Existing structures have been upgraded and utilised to complement the new accommodation and catering facilities.

Accommodation consists of four comfortable cabins, with four reverse cycle air-conditioned rooms, each complete with ensuites, and a maximum of six bunks per room. Each cabin has a common room with a bar fridge, stainless steel sink, crockery and cutlery, and jug and toaster for continental style breakfasts.

Other accommodation includes a backpacker style bunkhouse, housing up to 20 bunks per bunkhouse. Camping facilities include 20 powered caravan/camp sites, unlimited space for general camping, and male and female ablutions blocks. Camp Cypress has a fully commercial kitchen and reverse cycle air-conditioned dining room capable of catering for 150 guests. Training facilities are also available.
