- EcoTourism
The Pilliga Scrub ("A Million
Wild Acres", as described by Eric Rolls in his famous book of
that name) is unique, containing a variety of fauna and flora, some
of it to be found nowhere else! It includes a number of endangered
species, including the Glossy Black
Cockatoo. Local ornithologists have produced an excellent
list of birds of the Baradine district. Regular visits of bird
watchers, bush walkers and others interested in eco-tourism are
encouraged. Camp Cypress provides essential accommodation,
catering and other facilities for these groups.
